4 quick tips for your next visit to the Tokyo Sky Tree

No trip to Tokyo is complete without a visit to the Sky Tree. At 634 metres, it is the largest tower in the world! We were stunned and amazed by the views. It is different from the Tokyo City View in Roppongi Hills and well-worth the trip.

Tip - fast track your visit

If you go on a weekend, consider the "Fast Sky tree Ticket". This pass (for International guests only, weirdly) allows holders to skip the rather long queue at the bottom, all the way up to the 350th floor. The pass is +940 ¥ more expensive than the regular ticket and does not include access to the 450th floor (available at an additional cost).

Tip - will you see more?

We skipped the 450th floor. Although it is perhaps less crowded, and you will not wait so long to get in front of a window for a clear, unobstructed look, you actually have a very similar view as the lower observation point. You won't exactly "see more".

If you are going to brave the higher floors, you must upgrade your Fast Ticket (+1'030 ¥ ).

(This does not include skipping the queue for the elevator from the 350th floor to the 450th floor.)

Tip- fuji-san viewing

If you want to see the ever-illusive Fuji-san, consider going earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon. We went around 13.00 and the sun was shining right in the window #8 - where the beautiful mountain was presenting itself.

Tip - eat!

If you are feeling peckish, head straight to the second floor food court of the Sky Tree Building. I am not particularly a far of a food court, but this particular one dispelled all myths. Alone with three children (two of which were arguing, not listening and making life with three food trays somewhat difficult) the lovely staff assisted me. They found us a table, carried our trays and even brought us the free water from the common water kitchen. I was amazed.

The whole lunch for four cost around 1'500 ¥ and was incredibly delicious.

Enjoy Tokyo!
